Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The room is nice and spacious (ground floor family room) and good value for money. It was warm and had towels and soap. We arranged a full private day trip to the oases and desert for 500TD, with other day trips available. We arranged this just the day before with no issues. The housekeeper behcir was there to welcome us despite a very late arrival by train (if you take the train, just assume it will be 2-3 hours late). The housekeeper was also able to take us to the station for 5:45 in the morning. Breakfast was basic (bread and spreads, coffee) but fine at the price

Negative: When we arrived, after having discussed on WhatsApp that we could pay by card (revolut transfer rather than a machine), we found that they wanted cash. Not a major issue and behcir drove us to an ATM to pick up the cash but that wasn't exactly what we wanted with a late arrival. It's a little bit out from the main Medina, but taxis are plentiful a 5 minute walk away and cost less than 4 Dinar even large at night. There does appear to be some small scale agriculture taking place next door with goats; the smell was not noticeable in the room or the ground floor but we went to the roof and there was a feint smell.
